MUZA, Eretz Israel Museum, Tel Aviv takes pleasure in announcing the festive reopening of the Jewish Culture and Folklore Pavilion, which has been closed to the public for several years.
The pavilion is located in a historic building in the heart of the new MUZA Park, and contains one of the largest and most impressive collections in Israel of Judaica and ethnographic and folklore objects. Over the last few months, the structure and exhibits of the pavilion have been renovated and upgraded, and it will open to the public on June 1, 2024.
The pavilion’s renovated display combines Judaica exhibitions including sacred and secular objects with folklore objects, costumes from Jewish communities, jewelry and amulets. A new perspective has been added to the permanent exhibition by the inclusion of contemporary artworks, donations and new acquisitions, and the addition of an extra space intended for circulating exhibitions; these make the connection between the traditional objects’ cultural, religious and social significance and our own time.
