A socio-communal project: a tribute to the carpets of anemones in the western Negev, which feel like a distant dream.
240 anemones, one for each of the hostages imprisoned in Gaza by Hamas, form a red carpet as a reminder of the hostages and a prayer that each and every one of them will return safely to their families. The work was created cooperatively with a group of people with psychosocial disabilities, members of the Enosh association in Givataim, which works on recycling and the environment. The work provided the participants with a supportive framework, enabling them to step up and be involved during the war.
People living on the streets helped collect the bottles used to create the petals. The stones at the base of the anemones suggest connection to the ground; hope for renewed growth coupled with terrible pain.
