Why
In a military context, the term “exposure” can describe the uncovering and flattening of a surface using heavy implements, in order to expand the field of vision and impede the appearance of enemy forces. Three military pins were sunk into an industrial material and subsequently exposed by means of filing, erosion, and flattening. The work process is aggressive and intensive; it cannot be controlled, and the final result cannot be predicted. The familiar IDF aesthetic is thus dissolved and replaced by delicate, minimalist pins. The symbolic charge of the military object and the aggressive work process are embedded in it as a memory.
